Be honest and upfront with the grandparents about your expectations and in turn listen to how they want to be involved. Some grandparents are ‘done raising kids’ and don’t want to babysit in any capacity. They hold the baby as long as he’s happy and hand him back the minute he needs something. Others long for constant involvement and love to babysit on a regular basis. Make sure you communicate about what they want their relationship to look like.
