If there are genuine issues in your family that require protecting your children, it may be best to put some creative thought into how to allow the grandparents to contribute in a way they are happy to, but that limits their influence and authority in your children’s lives. You may need to relate to them mainly ‘on your turf’ and in your home, or find other ways to limit their effect on your children.
