3 Easy Canning Recipes: Jam

Want to savor the flavor of summer by bottling it up for the rest of the year? Do you have an abundance of fruits you don’t know what to do with? Look no further. We can inspire your inner summertime Goddess whether you are a master chef or just a pasta and eggs kind of gal. With these simple recipes canning jam is as easy as 1-2-3!

To test the “readiness” of the jam, place a small bowl or plate in the freezer to chill. Once chilled, spoon a small amount of jam on the plate and tilt sideways. The jam should barely move when tilted yet remain soft and jam-like.

To seamlessly sterilize the jars, a very affordable canning pot and rack may interest you.

If there is any left over jam that doesn’t fit in the jars, store it in a Tupperware container and enjoy immediately. Your homemade jams should preserve for about a year if unopened, so you can enjoy the summer flavors year-round!

The orange marmalade and berry jam recipes are inspired by recipes from Alton Brown and Phipps Country Store and Farm.
