What would you like 25% MORE of?

It’s no secret that everything these days (with the exception of my waistline) seems to be getting smaller.  Cereal boxes, frozen treats, they all slowly shrink before our eyes.  For this reason,  I’m often both shocked and elated to see my favorite things boasting more.  Why hello there, peanut butter!

More caramel, nougat and milk chocolate?  More roasted peanuts and peanut butter?  There’s two squares in every package so technically that means there’s more to share as well, but no one has to know that.  It’s also more to hoard and more to hide from everyone around you.  However, the “more” got me thinking.  If you could have 25% more of anything, what would it be?

Income?  That’s probably a given for everyone, so we’ll scratch that off the list.  Thinking realistically I would love 25% more vacation time, which would include 25% more than the zero time I have currently to soak up the sun and dip my toes in some tropical crystal blue water.

Oooooh, how about 25% more sleep?  Heck yes.  This pregnant momma would probably be a whole lot happier with 25% more zzzzz’s.  And while we’re at it, we may as well be productive and kill two birds with one stone by getting our 25% more sleep while on our 25% more vacation.  It’s only fitting.

Speaking of sleep, I’m going to wake up from my dream now and get real.  When I think about what’s really important to me, and what I would really like to make an effort to have more of, it’s quality time with these three.

Now that school is out and summer is in full swing, it’s so easy to get off schedule and spend our days lazing around in pajamas while they play video games and I get lost in my work, or feeling too lazy to do anything myself.  So this summer I’m making a conscious effort to have more fun family time with the people I love most.  That’s not to say I don’t think it’s perfectly acceptable to occasionally lock the hooligans in the basement while I hide in a closet with one of those Snickers Peanut Butter Squares, but we can certainly spend a little more time doing meaningful family activities.  Next month I’m going to give you an update and show you some of the things we’ve done together to make it happen.

Now it’s YOUR turn!  I’m challenging each of you to pick something you’d like 25% more of, and decide how you’re going to do it.  Leave a comment below and let us know what you’re thinking, and then get to work, because I want to hear about your results, too!

*And just remember, each month we pick a random comment from all of that month’s posts here on the Scoop and we send a surprise!  Last month I sent someone a box of my favorite things from this post!
