Controversial Joey Salads Shows Child Abduction Too Easy
Do you think your kids are safe from being abducted by strangers? Joey Salad says otherwise. While many viewers know Joey Saladino as Joey Salads, a prankster that loves to poke fun, he has a serious side as well. That side came out recently when he showed parents all across the web a frightening experiment. In his latest video Joey Salads shows child abduction, especially by a stranger, is all too easy.
A Lesson For Every Young Child’s Mother
The video shows Salads approaching a parent who is out with their small child at a local park in New York. He explains he is videotaping a “social experiment” and asks each mother if she thinks her child would go off with a stranger. Of course, each mother says she has taught her children well and they would never walk off with a total stranger. He asks permission to try and get them to walk off with him. He then walks up to the kids with a cute dog and lets them pet the dog. He then tells them he has puppies in his van and would they like to see them. In three out of three cases the kids said yes. Mothers in the background can be seen acting in shock. But how much danger are these kids really in?
Salads Shows Child Abduction Is Easy, But How Real Is The Danger?
While some experts say the experiment is too limited to really say anything, The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children says “It’s been done a hundred times.” They go on to point out that the children in this video are all around 4 years old, a very vulnerable age when kids are trusting of everyone. They explain, “Young kids are easily tricked, which is why we tell parents they have to stay with very young kids.” In other words, at parks and other public places kids under five should never be left unsupervised. But they also point out that it is likely the kids saw Salads talk with their mothers first and so they thought he was safe to be around. But with 700 kids abducted every day, the video is a chilling reminder that even the most well informed kids still need watching when they are small.
