Local Pizza Hut App Rescued Hostage and Kids
There is one woman in Florida that is thanking her lucky stars she is not only a regular customer of the local Pizza Hut, but has their app on her phone. Not only had the Pizza Hut app rescued hostage Cheryl Treadway when her boyfriend held her hostage at knifepoint, but it also helped free her children held with her. The story of how a love of local pizza ended up saving her life is just one more example of a modern mother doing everything she can to save her kids as well as her own life.
Mom’s Pizza Hut App Rescued Hostage Situation
At the time of the order, Cheryl had been held at knifepoint, along her three kids by a boyfriend that some believe was high on crystal meth. Earlier in the day he had threatened her, took her smartphone and accompanied her when she pleaded to leave to pick up her kids from school. He then continued to hold all four hostage. When the mother asked to order pizza for everyone as it got later, he agreed but took the phone back as soon as she sent in the order. But what he didn’t know is that she sent a special message in that order.
Special Order Brings In 911
The app allowed Cheryl to tag special instructions for the driver making the delivery. When the order was printed the shocked workers recognized the address as one belonging to a regular customer. The special instructions read “Please help. Get 911 for me.” They immediately called the local police who sent officers to both the home address and the local Pizza Hut. The mother was able to walk out with one of her children in arms, and the police quickly negotiated with the boyfriend to win the freedom of the other two children. The boyfriend went into custody, the mother and her children were safe and sound and the local Pizza Hut has a tale of the day a Pizza Hut app rescued hostage held clients as one for the record.
