Facts You Should Know About Fostering

Many people are mistaken about some of the following facts.  Learning them and knowing their truth is important.

• There are still many children who are living as orphans.
• You can actually adopt a child faster in the US than internationally, although many believe the opposite to be true.
• You can foster a child while renting as long as you have adequate space.
• You can foster a child of any race or ethnicity.
• Many children in foster care do not have special needs and were not abused.
• Many times you can adopt a child that you foster.
• Children you are fostering can share a room as long as they are the same sex and they each have their own bed.
• You can adopt even if you are not married.
• You can adopt if you are LGBT.
